Vision Statement

To be the leading professional organization for all IEPs in the USA.

Mission Statement

AAIEP promotes and supports ethical and professional standards for intensive English programs in the U.S.; communicates and champions the value of English language study; enhances the visibility of member programs; and fosters professional development among members.

AAIEP believes that this mission is best achieved through the advancement of Standards, Advocacy and Outreach for Intensive English programs in the United States.

Strategic Area 1 – Advocacy

1.1.  LTO: AAIEP develops an effective and consistent means of communicating its goals, achievements, and member benefits to its constituents in the area of advocacy.

1.2.  LTO: AAIEP becomes an internationally recognized source of accurate and reliable data and information impacting US IEPs.

1.3.  LTO: AAIEP becomes a key constituent that governmental and nongovernmental agencies consult in formulating policies and positions impacting international education and IEPs.

1.4.  LTO: The Advocacy Team develops a process for ongoing planning and review of its advocacy agenda

1.5.  LTO: AAIEP imparts greater ownership of the advocacy goals to its members and will provide them the education and training necessary to become effective advocates

1.6.  LTO: AAIEP establishes a strong coalition with other educational associations for the advancement of and advocacy for IEP issues.

1.7.  LTO: Governmental and non-governmental agencies partner with AAIEP to promote US education to the international market

1.8.  LTO: The national IEP community recognizes AAIEP as the chief advocate for the profession.

Strategic Area 2 – Standards

2.1.  LTO: AAIEP will collaborate with accrediting bodies to advance standards for intensive English programs.

2.2.  LTO: All AAIEP member programs will actively participate in an accreditation process.

2.3.  LTO: All AAIEP members will submit PSAs electronically.

2.4.  LTO: There will be a regular review of the standards and PSA; revisions are proposed when appropriate.

2.5.  LTO: AAIEP will actively encourage member programs to share innovative and sustainable practices.

Strategic Area 3 – Membership Development

3.1.  LTO: AAIEP strives to increase membership to include every accredited IEP.

3.2.  LTO: AAIEP mandates the regular collection of key data from member programs.

3.3.  LTO: AAIEP strives to continually increase the number of Associates and negotiate greater member benefits.

Strategic Area 4 – Marketing & Outreach

4.1.  LTO: AAIEP achieves global recognition through branding.

4.2.  LTO: AAIEP strives to become the primary resource of information for English study in the US to students and agents.

4.3.  LTO: AAIEP is the leading provider of professional development for IEPs regionally.

4.4.  LTO: AAIEP will become the leading association of IEPs.

4.5.  LTO: AAIEP works with key partners in the US to help promote the US as a destination for international education.

4.6.  LTO: AAIEP provides regular updates on Outreach efforts.

4.7.  LTO: AAIEP provides and communicates ample opportunities for member involvement.

4.8.  LTO: AAIEP will identify key industry events where AAIEP should be represented by the Executive Director.

Strategic Area 5 – Administrative Structure and Organization

5.1.  LTO: AAIEP will establish and maintain a central office with an Executive Director that provides administrative support, leadership & execution, that elevates and elevate the functionality of the organization

5.2.  LTO: AAIEP will advance member involvement through a variety of outlets

5.3.  LTO: AAIEP will utilize comprehensive online technology that automates and integrates administrative functions and enhances member communication

5.4.  LTO: The duties of each member of the AAIEP Executive Board will be clarified each year.
