Trouble with AAIEP downloads?

If you've had trouble opening any of the files downloaded from the AAIEP website, some of your software could be out of date:

  • If you download then only see a file ending with the .zip .sit, .sea, or .hqx extension, try clicking on it.  If that doesn't result in a .pdf file sitting next to it, you probably need to download an updated version of StuffIt Expander, a very commonly used (and FREE) program:
  • If you successfully downloaded a file ending in the .pdf extension but cannot open it, it most likely means you don't have Adobe Reader, or you have an old version of it.  Since this is also a commonly used (and - again! - FREE) program, here are the steps to download and use Adobe Acrobat Reader:
  • 2. On the Adobe homepage, look for the icon with the words "Get Adobe Reader" on the left side of the page.
  • 3. Click on "Get Adobe Reader" and follow the instructions for downloading and installing this very useful and free program.
  • 4. Once you have installed Acrobat Reader, you should be able to open and view the newsletter (and hundreds of other documents that are sent out using the .pdf format!).

Don't forget that those of you who can't open it but already have Adobe Reader (a.k.a. 'Adobe Acrobat Reader') probably need to download a new version of it.
