IEP ACCREDITATION BILL PASSES!!!

Dear Colleagues –

It is with great pleasure that I bring you today’s news of the passage of HR 2361 – the bill requiring that IEPs be accredited in order to issue I-20s (have SEVP approval)!

The Senate version of the bill (S 1338) passed earlier in the year, and with today’s passage in the House, the bill now moves to the Executive office to become law.

This moment is marked by years of work and dedication from many AAIEP colleagues, who committed time and resources to this cause, meeting with representatives, writing letters, making calls, and persisting through the highs and lows of the legislative process.  Thank you to all for your commitment to this important piece of advocacy – it is truly a joyous day!

Please look for more information in the coming days with the release of the AAIEP newsletter.

Sincerely,
Jeff
