Description

Year-round Intensive English Programs (20, 24 or 30 lessons per week) with flexible duration from 2 to 52 weeks; arrivals every 2 weeks; special interest classes and flexible add-on packages are available during the year The Academic Year Abroad program offers a fixed 37-week program and a variety of special interest and content courses, as well as a professional internship.

Location

EF ILS New York is located on the beautiful campus of Fordham University in the quaint town/village of Tarrytown, New York.  Students will live here like a typical American college student as they study English.  The school is on a 25-acre wooded campus and offers great on-site amenities such as access to a fitness center, gym, swimming pool, campus bookstore, cafeteria, and café.  It is only a 5 minute walk to the downtown area of Tarrytown where there are quaint shops and cafes.  A train trip to New York City is only a 45 minutes ride where students enjoy shopping, eating, visiting museums, the Empire State Building, Central Park and a fun nightlife.

Teaching Qualifications

EF teachers hold a BA with a MA in TESOL or related field preferred. They have experience in English language instruction with a focus on communicative teaching methods. Teachers register with the NY State Bureau of Proprietary School Supervision.  Teachers must have completed at least a qualified training program (CELTA) or have one year of teaching experience.  Master’s degree is preferred.
