XU Intensive English (ESL) Program

Description

Xavier's university-based program offers intensive English for academic purposes. Four levels: High Beginning, Intermediate, High Intermediate and Advanced. Core courses are offered in all four skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing) as well as optional electives in oral skills, pronunciation training, and TOEFL preparation. University credit is given for all courses above the beginning level. Mid-term entries (in October and March) may be possible, if space is available.

Location

Xavier University is a Jesuit school located in the city of Cincinnati, Ohio. Cincinnati is large enough to provide business and cultural attractions, but small enough to be a friendly city.  Cincinnati is home to international businesses, professional sports teams, a symphony orchestra and cultural attractions such as museums and festivals.

The University is located in a residential area of the city, and has an attractive, park-like campus. (Visit the university website to take a campus tour and a city tour.)

Teaching Qualifications

Instructors in Xavier's ESL program are well-qualified, experienced professionals. All ESL Specialists have Master's degrees and several years of experience teaching English to international students.
