American Language ProgramDescriptionThe American Language Program (ALP) specializes in preparing students for university study. Courses at all 8 levels are designed to help students strengthen both English skills and academic skills. Fall and spring semesters are 16 weeks; summer sessions are 8 weeks. University classes are available to advanced students.
LocationALP is on the California State University, Fullerton campus, which enrolls over 36,000 students. Fullerton, a suburban community of about 112,000, is 30 miles from Los Angeles. It is near Disneyland, beaches, music and theater centers, and many other cultural and recreational attractions.

The Fullerton Marriot Hotel on campus offers rooms for about $119 to $184 a night for students. The University Village, a private dormitory across the street, offers rooms and meals for students. Student ServicesFull-time program coordinators assist students with arrival, housing, personal concerns, and academic advising. They also arrange parties, sports activities, and excursions. Students have access to campus facilities and services, including the library, health center, computer laboratories, language laboratory and sports and recreation facilities. Educational Service OpportunitiesAdvanced students may enroll in a university class for credit and choose from program electives such as Business English, Seminar on the World Today, TOEFL, GMAT, and Presentations. Students at all levels are encouraged to visit university classes and participate in campus educational, recreational and cultural events.
