Culture and Intensive English Program (CIEP)DescriptionThe Culture and Intensive English Program is an intensive program in English for non-native speakers. We prepare students for academic work at the undergraduate or graduate degree level.
LocationCIEP is part of the University of Northern Iowa, located in the residential community of Cedar Falls. UNI is a mid-sized university with an enrollment of 14,000 students. The population of Cedar Falls/Waterloo area is 125,000. Cedar Falls provides students with the advantages of a city and yet a peaceful, clean and safe atmosphere in which to study and live. Cedar Falls is in northeast Iowa, not far from Chicago and Minneapolis. Both Cedar Falls and Waterloo have a variety of recreational, shopping and cultural centers.
Teaching QualificationsInstructors possess a Master's degree in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). They have studied languages, lived outside the United States, and have had previous experience teaching English to speakers of other languages.

FacilitiesOur classrooms are designed for the diverse number of students in each class. Classrooms have current educational technology used by the instructors. The University also offers an up-to-date library, award winning performances in a new performing arts center, and a new recreational athletic facility for exercise and sports.

The cost of the university dormitory includes 19 meals per week for 8 weeks. There are many apartments available near the university.
