Student Services

IEI meets students in the baggage claim area of the Nashville airport and provides housing and living assistance: bank orientation, counseling, and problem solving. IEI also has an active, year-round social/cultural program with trips to Elvis Presley's home in Memphis, Mammoth Cave National Park in Kentucky, NASA Alabama Space Museum, Cherokee Indian Reservation, and Kentucky horse country. IEI assists in university placement and campus visits.

Educational Service Opportunities

IEI provides a 6-level, 5-skill area approach with 25 hours per week of student-teacher contact. IEI emphasizes conversation and grammar and requires a minimum of 2 hours of homework per day. Teachers provide extra work for students upon request. Faculty are MA level or above and emphasize a communicative approach.

Transportation

Nashville has basic, but limited public transportation. Many students buy cars. Some students ride to IEI on the bus or with host families/friends.
