Washington Academy of LanguagesDescriptionWAL offers 5-week terms year-round in a communicative, integrated program; shorter stays available. English for Academic Preparation, TOEFL Preparation and Conversational English at all levels. Special part-time classes in TOEIC Prep, TOEFL Prep, Business Communications and Pronunciation & Conversation also available each term. LocationSeattle is a safe, mid-sized city offering many cultural and recreational opportunities. Nearby mountains and sea provide additional winter and summer activities. Canada, a popular weekend trip, is 2 1/2 hours from Seattle by car.
Teaching QualificationsOur teachers have an MA in TESOL or a related field and lots of experience teaching all skills to post-secondary ESL students. Most of them have lived overseas and speak other languages.

FacilitiesLocated next to Seattle Pacific University (SPU), WAL is approximately 10 minutes north of downtown Seattle. WAL partners with SPU to offer World Language and graduate Teacher Education courses for university credit. Students have easy access to the campus and can use campus facilities. WAL has Student Services, bookstore and reception, Student Lounge and classrooms all on one floor. Computers are available in the classrooms. The school has lovely views of the Lake Washington Ship Canal.
