Cal Poly English Language InstituteDescriptionCal Poly Pomona's English Language Institute is designed to provide superior instruction in listening, speaking (including pronunciation), reading, and writing English, and TOEFL preparation. Instruction is provided in a year-round program divided into four 10-week quarters. Every student is required to attend at least 20 hours of classes each week. There are 5 levels of instruction consisting of Beginning, Low Intermediate, Intermediate, Low Advanced, and Advanced. All of our instructors are highly qualified teachers with extensive ESL experience. The ultimate goal of the program is to help students gain the skills and confidence they need to pass the TOEFL and become successful students at American universities.
LocationCal Poly Pomona covers 1,438 acres of rolling green hills and is the second largest in area in The California State University system. Its location is ideal for so many things, including studying, social and cultural activities, and recreation. Located less than 30 miles east of downtown Los Angeles, in the heart of sunny Southern California, Cal Poly Pomona offers the peace and serenity of a small community as well as the glamour and excitement of a cultural hub. Originally the winter ranch home of cereal magnate W.K. Kellogg, the campus retains his working Arabian horse ranch alongside rose gardens and avocado groves.
