ELS Language Centers/San Francisco

Description

ELS Language Centers offers a group-intensive course that is divided into 12 levels, from beginning to highly advanced. Each level takes four weeks to complete. There are two basic programs: Intensive English = 30 hours/week; Semi-Intensive English = 20 hours/week. Electives include TOEFL Preparation, Multi-Media Language Lab, Business English, Current Events and Idiomatic English.

Four-week sessions start every month throughout the year. A calendar of start dates may be found on our website at www.els.edu.

Location

Known for its friendliness and spirit of individualism, the "City by the Bay" is a center of culture and finance with a distinct international flavor. San Francisco is a compact city best explored by walking through its colorful ethnic neighborhoods or riding the famous cable cars that climb its steep hills. Our Center is in the heart of a part of the city called Pacific Heights, a short distance from Fisherman's Wharf, Ghirardelli Square and the ferry boat to Alcatraz Island. Level 109 graduates may participate in an Internship Experience program with local businesses. The English in Action Elective Class lets you learn about the city through teacher-escorted educational field trips. Cross the Golden Gate Bridge for magnificent views of the San Francisco skyline. Escape for a day to the majestic redwood forests, the scenic Monterey Peninsula or the rolling hills of the California Wine Country. Plan weekend adventures to Yosemite National Park, Lake Tahoe and California's historic Gold Country region.
