Institute for International StudentsDescriptionIntensive English for academic/general purposes, summer program, TOEFL preparation; the 4-level program meets 20 hours per week with classes in reading, reading skills, writing, grammar, communication and study skills; also available are electives in pronunciation, vocabulary, TOEFL preparation, American culture, Business English and academic listening. Practice TOEFL tests given. Institutional TOEFL test administered.
LocationCity College of San Francisco is located in the southwest corner of "Everybody's Favorite City" within easy access of bus and subway lines. San Francisco is one of the most beautiful and diverse cities in the world. IIS is close to all of the major tourist attractions.
Teaching QualificationsAll have Master's degrees and many years of teaching experience. Most speak other languages and have lived and travelled throughout the world. All are members of the English as a Second Language Department at CCSF.

Information is also available about residence clubs which provide a room and 2 meals/day. Apartments can range from $800 up depending on location and whether shared or single. Student ServicesThe Activities Coordinator plans an activities program including field trips within the San Francisco area and cultural activities on campus. Optional trips to other areas are available. Language partner program with City College students is possible. The Institute has its own computer lab with internet and email access.
