FLS InternationalDescriptionFLS offers the Intensive English Program with 8 Levels of English study, from beginner to college preparatory. The program consists of 25 hours of study each week. 17.5 hours are devoted to the core English skills and 7.5 hours are devoted to 'electives'' in special subjects. Electives include: TOEFL Preparation, Composition, American Culture, Business English, Lifeskills, Conversational English and more. Classes are taught by experienced, qualified native English speakers. The extensive activity program includes entertaining and educational excursions to all major points of interest in the Southern California region. The college campus environment allows students access to all college facilities and opportunities to meet American students.
LocationThe center is located on the Campus of Citrus College in the city of Glendora, just at the base of the San Gabriel mountains. This quiet and safe suburban community is located only 40 kilometers east of Los Angeles and enjoys easy access to many of the area's most exciting attractions, including Disneyland and Hollywood. Nearby Pasadena features many destinations for fine dining and unique shopping.
Teaching QualificationsMinimum instructor qualifications are: Bachelor's Degree plus 2 years of language teaching experience. Most FLS - Citrus instructors have 5+ years of ESL teaching experience and have lived/ worked overseas.

Shared room homestay accommodation fees are included in the basic IEP package price. Student ServicesThe activities program includes optional trips to all major Southern California attractions, student parties and clubs and excursions to sports events, cultural attractions and more. A housing coordinator assists students with all housing needs. Students receive a Citrus College ID card which allows them to access all Citrus College facilities and services. Educational Service OpportunitiesAcademic Advising and College Placement and Transfer Assistance; Letters of Conditional Acceptance; Language Lab; Computer Lab; College Library. TransportationThe Foothill Transit System serves Citrus College and the Glendora area. Most homestays are within a 30 - 40 minute bus ride of the center. Bicycles are also an effective and popular way to travel to class. FLS offers an airport pick-up service from Los Angeles International Airport, Ontario Airport and Burbank Airport Application InformationApply on-line at http://www.fls.net. Students must submit a completed application, a $100.00 application fee, a $100.00 tuition deposit (applied toward the first month of tuition), and a financial statement showing $17,820.00 of annual support. Overseas applicants should apply at least 4 - 6 weeks in advance to allow for sufficient visa processing time. |
