Description

The ILI method is integrated and includes instruction in grammar, speaking, listening comprehension, reading, and writing. Classes are small to ensure effective learning. There are 13 class levels, from the beginner to the university/professional level. Each level requires 4 weeks to complete. An intensive 8-week TOEFL preparation class that is computer-adaptive is also offered.

ILI has two centers: the Washington DC Center, located downtown in a very lively area, and the Davis & Elkins College Center, located on the campus of Davis & Elkins College.

ILI is located in the heart of the nation's capital, convenient to restaurants, shops, banks and sightseeing points.  The Metro (subway) stop is right across the street.  Our facilities have 29 classrooms, a student lounge, terrace, computer lab and vending machines.

Student Services

ILI's Homestay Coordinator assists students who wish to participate in the homestay program. Meetings regarding U.S. cultural orientation are held every 4 weeks. The Coordinator also helps students seeking non-homestay accommodation. ILI's Foreign Student Advisor organizes weekly field trips to the sightseeing points of Washington, D.C. as well as holiday parties, soccer games, and "coffee hour" get-togethers.

Educational Service Opportunities

ILI provides academic counseling to students and assists in American college/university placement. Our computer lab with high speed DSL Internet connections is open to students in the afternoons.

Transportation

ILI's Washington DC Center is very conveniently located right next to the Dupont Circle Metro on the Red Line Metro Service. Transportation time from Dulles International Airport is approximately 45 minutes. From National Airport, it is approximately 30 minutes.

New classes begin every 4 weeks. However, a student may enter the program at any time. A placement test allows us to place the student at the appropriate point in the course. Students can apply by mail, fax or on our website.
