Non-resident students with F-1 visa status may apply for NYU dormitory housing. Contact the ALI office by telephone, mail or e-mail to obtain an application and current rate information. Student ServicesALI has an International Student Adviser on staff to provide visa information and assistance and counseling. Office staffers are available to help students take advantage of the wealth of cultural and entertainment opportunities that abound in one of the world's liveliest cities. Weekly events are schedule in individual classes. Conversation practice with native speakers can be arranged, and discount theater and music tickets are made available to students. Educational Service OpportunitiesPrior to registration all students take the American Language Institute proficiency test which concludes with a one-on-one interview with a faculty member. An international student advisor is available for educational counseling. The School of Continuing and Professional Studies has a center for Career, Education and Life Planning as well. TransportationStudents arrange their own transportation from the three airports serving the New York metropolitan area. Yellow taxis have fixed rate fares. NYU transportation service is available to numerous University locations.
