Intensive English Communication Program

Description

The IECP is a skills-based program for serious, highly motivated students. It has four levels, from beginning to advanced. It follows a semester schedule for sustained, productive language learning. It has an experienced, dedicated, and very friendly faculty and staff. Students have access to Penn State facilities and services. The IECP is competitively priced. Students successful language learning is our most important concern.

Location

The IECP is located in a charming university town on a campus known as one of the most beautiful in the U.S. The setting is quiet, peaceful, and safe. It is only minutes away from the rural Pennsylvania countryside and the metropolitan areas of Philadelphia and New York are about 5 hours away by car. Pittsburgh and Washington, D.C. are about 4 hours away.

Teaching Qualifications

Masters degrees in TESL with experience living and teaching in other countries. On-going participation in professional development.

Educational Service Opportunities

Free Institutional TOEFL given at the end of each term;fully equipped IECP computer lab open and staffed with assistants 8 hours per day; students have access to all university computer labs, libraries, facilities, and organizations. Conversation partner program through Penn State's Global Connections program. Academic and visa counseling as well as assistance with college/university applications.

Transportation

The University is served by the State College/University Park airport and by bus service; a train station is 30 minutes away.
