ELS Language Centers/CharlotteDescriptionELS Language Centers offers a group-intensive course that is divided into 12 levels, from beginning to highly advanced. Each level takes four weeks to complete. There are two basic programs: Intensive English = 30 hours/week; Semi-Intensive English = 20 hours/week. Electives include TOEFL Preparation, Multi-Media Language Lab, Business English, Current Events and Idiomatic English.
Four-week sessions start every month throughout the year. A calendar of start dates may be found on our website at www.els.edu. LocationBooming with economic and commercial activity, Charlotte has all the advantages of one of the nation's most rapidly growing metropolises. Yet the people are warm and friendly, and many areas of the city retain their small-town flavor and community spirit. Queens College provides a gymnasium, indoor pool, tennis courts, weight room, dance studio, and several playing fields. Level 109 graduates may participate in an Internship Experience program with local businesses. Go boating, fishing or water skiing at nearby Lake Norman or Lake Wylie, or take a ride on an authentic Southern paddle-wheel riverboat. The city offers a wide variety of cultural activities from pop music concerts, opera and symphony orchestra to museums, including Discovery Place, one of the top interactive science and technology activity centers in the United States. Attend professional sporting events - such as the Charlotte Bobcats NBA and Carolina Panthers' NFL games. Enjoy weekend visits to the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains or the sparkling North Carolina Atlantic Ocean beaches.
