Location

Located in east central Florida, DeLand is a charming, traditional, small Florida town that offers the hospitality and security of a close-knit community. Shopping, restaurants and the Cultural Arts Center are all within walking distance of the Center. Founded in 1833, Stetson is Florida's oldest private university, with a 150-acre campus designated as a National Historic District. The world's most famous beach - Daytona Beach - is popular with students on Spring Break and is just 20 miles away by car. Orlando and DisneyWorld, Universal Studios, EPCOT Center, and the Animal Kingdom are all less than an hour away. The historic city of St. Augustine is about an hour away by car. Stetson University is ranked among the top four regional universities in the southern U.S. for educational quality, according to U.S. News & World Report. Stetson University also has an excellent School of Business Administration, College of Arts and Sciences, and a famous College of Music. The Kennedy Space Center, home of the Space Shuttle, is only 50 minutes away by car. Naturally warm spring-fed waters (21 degrees Celsius) are ideal for outdoor recreation and water sports, and are present here year-round.
