International English & Professional ProgramsDescription(1) 10-week Intensive ESL Program focusing on learning English for academic, professional or social purposes. (2) 4-week Communication and Culture Program focusing on American culture and conversational fluency with an emphasis on vocabulary building, speaking and listening skills, includes an overnight trip to Yosemite or Lake Tahoe. (3) Bridge Program that offers the opportunity for international students to create their own study-abroad experience by enrolling in regular courses in a wide variety of fields at the University of California, Davis. (4) 4-week English for Science and Technology Program. (5) 2-week English for Legal Professionals Program.
LocationUC Davis, a top-ranked public research university, is located in Northern California about halfway between the San Francisco Bay Area and Lake Tahoe region. Davis is a sophisticated yet small and safe university town known for its environmental consciousness and use of bicycles. Davis is within easy driving distance to the California coast, the Napa Valley wine regions, Sacramento (the state capital), and the California Gold Country, where gold was discovered in 1848.
Teaching QualificationsOur dedicated English language instructors all have advanced TESOL or related degrees and several are internationally recognized for their expertise and have published ESL materials (books, videos, and CD ROMS).

FacilitiesOur English language program classrooms are located on the UC Davis campus and include a 25-station Multimedia Resource Center, 2 computer labs. On the campus you can enjoy the library and a recreation center.

Notes on Fees:
The one-time application fee ($160) is non-refundable. Student services fee ($210) includes immigration and academic advising services, library cards, MRC, email and internet access, social events, and bus pass.

Your agreement will be with WISE, not UC Davis Extension. Placement fee is $225-325 with a $95 continuing fee for each additional quarter (included in costs shown), plus $26 per night. Dormitories are available only in summer and include meal plans. Educational Service OpportunitiesAcademic advising, volunteer experiences, TOEFL/TOEIC preparation, computer labs, electives for advanced students, free institutional TOEFL test each quarter. TransportationBicycles are the preferred mode of transportation in this environmental-aware, fitness conscious community. In fact, Davis is known as the "bicycle capital of the United States". We also have a wonderful bus system within Davis and to neighboring communities. There is easy train service throughout the day to San Francisco, Berkeley and Sacramento.
