English Language Institute, WestchesterDescriptionThe Pace University English Language Institute in Westchester offers an Intensive English Program year round designed to help students, visitors, and recent immigrants improve their English skills for academic study, career advancement, or personal enrichment. The curriculum integrates grammar, writing, reading, speaking, and listening. Cultural and social activities provide additional real-life opportunities to use English skills actively. The Institute also offers a Pre-Graduate Program for students who are preparing to apply to graduate schools in the U.S. and need to improve their English skills and raise their test scores.
LocationThe Intensive English Program and most of the other English programs are offered on the beautiful Pleasantville, New York campus, located about 64 kilometers north of New York City. The Pre-Graduate Program is offered at the Pace University Graduate Center campus in downtown White Plains, the commercial and retail center of Westchester County, New York.
Teaching QualificationsMaster's degree in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, or a related field. ESL teaching experience with adults and college age students.

Application InformationAdmission to the Pace University English Language Institute is open to any student who is at least 16 years old and who has completed secondary school. TOEFL is not required. The English Language Institute is authorized to issue the I-20 document for full-time English study of 18 or more hours per week. Students who want an I-20 must submit the English Language Institute application available by mail or online at www.pace.edu/eli and financial documentation which shows sufficient funds for studying and living in the United State |
