Intensive American Language CenterDescriptionThe Intensive American Language Center (IALC) at Washington State University provides high quality, intensive English language instruction. Our students come from around the world to prepare themselves for academic study at a College or University in the United States. The IALC is an excellent choice for students who wish to pursue a rigorous course of studies and for institutions seeking unique study opportunities for their students. Students who pass our program do not have to take the TOEFL in order to enter into most WSU programs and numerous community colleges.
LocationThe IALC is located on the Pullman campus of Washington State University, in Pullman, Washington.
Teaching QualificationsThe IALC faculty hold Masters degrees or Ph.D.s in Teaching English as a Second Language, Linguistics, or Education with a concentration in ESL.

TransportationIf you are already in the State of Washington, you can easily drive to Pullman. From outside the state, the easiest way to arrive is to fly into the Moscow-Pullman airport on Alaska/Horizon Airlines. For students admitted to our intensive English and academic preparation program, we provide airport pickup to campus if you contact the IALC in advance. Application Information1. Part-time study is not available to students with F-1 visas. If you have an F-1 visa, you must be enrolled full-time. 2. Workshops carry additional costs and are not included in full or part-time tuition payments. No refunds are given for any of the listed workshops and other services. Note that the Institutional TOEFL is given by WSU Testing Services each session. The TOEFL may only be taken by IALC students in level 3 or above. 3. Some classes have additional fees for materials. 4. The Student Health Service fee is required by WSU and is based on a 2 month session. 5. WSU requires major medical insurance coverage of at least $75,000 per illness. IALC provides a group insurance policy for students. Students may buy insurance from either IALC or a private agency. All quotes are provided with a minimum coverage of two months. 6. The sponsored student fee is paid only if WSU must bill a sponsor for tuition and fees. 7. The Late testing fee is required if students miss the student orientation to the IALC held the first two days of each session. |
