ESL Institute Program

Description

The ESL Center offers a variety of programs in English as a Second Language (ESL) for international students, members of the business community and graduate students. Programs include individual courses, test preparation (TOEFL, MCAT, etc.), Business Applications, Technical and Thesis Writing, and Accent Reduction.  The individual courses embrace all the main areas of ESL education at all proficiency levels: Listening and Speaking, Reading and Vocabulary, Writing and Sentence Structure, Conversation, Academic Communication, Language Lab and Computer Literacy, Introduction to American Culture and Customs, and Topics in ESL.

Location

Oakland University is located in southeastern Michigan between Flint and Detroit. Our 1,441-acre campus actually extends into two cities - Auburn Hills and Rochester Hills, between Adams Road and Squirrel Road, just south of Walton Boulevard.

Teaching Qualifications

Minimum qualification is an MA in TESOL, or an MA in Linguistics or Education with a specialization in TESOL.
